Spending many hours deep in meditation has taught me something... Posted: 05 Feb 2021 04:24 AM PST That in order to find peace you must look within yourself first and foremost. You cannot rely on others to do it for you. I'm finally on my path to healing because of that and I only hope that others can do the same. [link] [comments] |
Found this really beautiful quote today, by Janet Fitch... and I couldn't agree more. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 04:42 AM PST If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you will ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 05 Feb 2021 02:58 PM PST I can sit, focus on my breath for 10 minutes and realize that I have no obligation to engage with my thoughts. It is so relieving to to feel each and every breath, in and out. It's as if I am releasing the tension I am holding onto. I have not been meditating for long, but I am starting to have a clearer understanding of what meditation really is. [link] [comments] |
Immediate Thoughts after Meditating Posted: 05 Feb 2021 11:17 PM PST Just finished another meditation. I am still new at this. 25 minutes this time. I was not sitting in full lotus, but my surgically repaired left ankle feels a little torque. My right ankle fell asleep. I did not feel as though I was in a meditative state, but feel good about it. It was an exercise, and I got some benefit out of it. I think this is something I will just keep doing everyday. I meditate before bed. Right ankle is waking up, left ankle still a little torqued. I guess I have to work on finding a better way to sit. [link] [comments] |

One year of my life I can't remember Posted: 06 Feb 2021 01:33 AM PST So I've been doing some inner work recently and I've realised that 1 year of my life is missing, I can't remember it at all between 7 and 8. I've got an intuitive feeling that I was bullied in school that year but I have no recollection of it. I don't know how to go about healing it so just asking for advice from anyone who's dealt with repressed memories. [link] [comments] |
Looking for a french meditation app for the one I love ! Posted: 05 Feb 2021 07:30 PM PST Hello my dear friends, My french girlfriend is going through a lot these days and I think meditation might be very helpful for her. We went through the counting method together (1 to 10 and back), with the ideas behind it, but I think she's more likely to get into it with guided meditation. While I've discovered a few very good english meditation apps, she's a french speaker. Would you know by any chance of a french meditation app that you would recommend ? (Best if free ;) ) Thanks a lot and I wish you peace of mind in these troubled times <3 [link] [comments] |
Are there free meditation apps similar to Synctuition? Posted: 06 Feb 2021 01:02 AM PST I have quite bad anxiety and thought spiralling sometimes. Synctuition is the only app that works for me to help me fall asleep and forget about my worries. But it's quite expensive to buy a subscription. Are there similar apps that do the same thing? I've tried apps that Calm and Balance but they don't do much for me. Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 05:18 PM PST Hi all , We all know that random thoughts fly around when u sit for mediation. In my practice I do get these random thoughts and I go into it and then I realise and I come back to breath . However there are time I don't get any thoughts and then suddenly the voice in the head start commenting where are the thoughts ? How come I don't have any thoughts in the brain ? Go back to breath it's ok etc . The voice keep commenting on what's happening and how to progress . Is that normal ? Is there a way to shut that voice down as well ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 06:52 PM PST i had a pretty amazing experience on Thursday this week that I want to share. I wonder if it was due to the half moon? I am usually pretty good about being still and not being caught up in ego, and can drop into silence without much effort. that day i had been doing everything as essentially holy as i could: every time i really felt to do something, i'd do it. even a basic thing, like to outside, what to eat, what to drink, etc. i would wait to do things until i felt the moment was right. everything in harmony and in perfect step, even if it was as basic as drinking water. i had wanted a workout all week but felt that no time during the week was right. my workouts are intense with a high risk of injury so i only do them when i'm exactly ready. the sun came out and it felt right so i started my workout. it was a great workout, i did all the excersizes to the right rep counts and it felt great, it really felt like i could go harder/heavier next time. after i finished i felt like moving towards the sunlight and sitting or something. so i did. when i got into the sunlight, something changed: suddenly my life was in perspective. my two primary thought patterns, money and work, were apparent as things in my life, but at the same time, they became trivial. in that moment i knew that a day was approach where both of those things would lose all meaning to me. given i live in north america, i'm not sure exactly how that works in a practical sense but at that moment, i just new they would fade from relevance for me. in this state i looked around and everything was interesting. the most basic things were interesting. the most interesting thing was the driveway right infront of my feet. i could see the driveway was made out of individual rocks which had been covered in tar. in a small patch there must have been a thousand rocks. i could see the sun was hitting each little rock with full intensity, each rock having a point, each having a surface which was directly reflecting the sunshine and each with it's own shadow. i could see the part that the asphalt people repaired for me a previous year. i was aware of everything, i still could feel my underlying self, but at the same time, my normal everyday thought patterns were floating outside of me and i could look at them and the most basic thing, a tree, some snow, this patch of asphalt, was all interesting. i thought, wow, this driveway is so interesting! i also thought, in this state that i am in now, there is nothing in the world i normally live in, that can hold my attention. if i were in this state constantly, i doubt i'd ever have a need to return to the higher states (i refer to a regular ego state as a higher state since it requires higher energy to maintain, states 4 and 5, sitting in stillness and being the observer feel easier than being the walking-talking human-guy). the spiritual teacher Ram Das talked about this, i believe this is the 6th level of consciousness or god consciousness... ...i just drifted back into it now. i feel like not speaking. i feel like i'm not really here. everything is quiet, but i can also hear the HVAC, someone speaking nearby. deeper than regular meditation. all my life situation things, they seem so small, so distant and trivial. there is nothing i want. there is nothing i need. i am compelled to be motionless and silent. the only thing that matters is this, right now. oh god. i feel like i'm being pulled into something. i know it is something positive. but i don't know if i am ready. i can feel the earth moving beneath me, and as it moves, it moves my chair and moves my seat and i move with it. i can see the goddess lakshimi, mostly her left side, she is smiling holding a lotus... i received sacred hindu lotus seeds in the mail yesterday and am germinating them in water now. i see an old japanese man, long grey hair. i recognize him but names are lost right now. names of people and things are not here. i feel like of like i'm high. i shiver with what felt like an electric shock. it is time to go back. go back, gently go back to the normal state. nothing to fear, nothing has been lost, i am always with you. another smaller shiver. ....and i'm back... mostly. i think i saw myself in a past life, as an old japanese man in a forest. i wonder if that's why i'm fond of japanese culture and sushi? the man looked like pie mei, just not as comical. i could picture jodie foster in contact as she went through the wormhole, that's how i felt. i could see her face but could not remember her name. i felt that i had access to all knowledge, backwards and forwards in time, my life, the life of others. but nothing needed to be asked, nothing needed to be known. i could feel the people around me. this has happened to be before, but it is happening on a more regular basis now. one thing i'm left with each time is a deeper connection to others and a deeper compassion for those around me, compassion for them as they are, in their perfect current state. my manager was flustered today because of a client meeting. i explained the client was not giving him a hard time, the client was infact afraid that he would not be able to perform his duties because he didn't understand our product. i think i've always had this level of insight, it was simply buried before. now it's more available. CHAKARAS AND ASTRAL PROJECTION Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:48 PM PST hi i'm semi new i've heard about astral projecting like 3 years ago and cant seem to even get to the vibrational stage, i'd love tips to get there so i can see some progress but my main question is do you have to work on chakras and unblock stuff before you can undergo an obe. i've gotten a few lucid dreams i know that's semi different but the feeling of progress kept me motivated. I cant seem to realize any progress in meditating to reach an obe [link] [comments] |
Complete disconnection of all senses when meditating Posted: 05 Feb 2021 06:31 PM PST I've been meditating on and off for years now but only recently starting doing it regularly. The other day I started the normal guided meditation I usually do, but I had a totally different experience. It was almost like every one of my senses was completely blocked, and had absolutely no thoughts going through my brain, literally like I was dead (I know that might sound weird). I wasn't asleep because I remember still being aware or conscious of where I was, but just felt like I completely disconnected with reality, like I was suspended in space in complete peace and clarity. I was like this for maybe 20min before I kind of snapped back, but it was like the whole experience went on for hours, was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? [link] [comments] |

5 Surprising Benefits You Can Gain from Meditation Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:29 AM PST We overall heard that practicing meditation can be good for us, but beyond the common knowledge that it's relaxing, we might not be exactly sure why it's so good for us. The truth is that meditation allows you to experience many benefits, both direct and indirect. Here are five surprising benefits that you can gain from regular meditation practice. 1. It Improves Fertility Stress has been proven to hurt our immune systems. But did you know it can be equally devastating to our fertility? While scientists arenÕt sure about the exact link between stress and infertility, they have discovered that women who took part in stress-reduction techniques were more likely to get pregnant. 2. It Improves Self-Acceptance When we engage in meditation, we become more aware of our thoughts and more capable of controlling them. A crucial part of meditation is noticing our thoughts and feelings without judging them. This helps us to develop a different perspective on our inner dialogue so that we can develop a greater understanding of ourselves. 3. It Improves Self-Confidence Our self-confidence is built on the stories we know about ourselves. So, just like our self-acceptance can be improved with meditation, so can our self-esteem. When we experience negative thoughts and feelings about ourselves during meditation, we learn to notice them at the moment, and not hang onto them. After a time, this leaves us able to handle negative, internal dialogue better outside of our meditation sessions. 4. It Improves our Relationships Our relationships can be improved through the practice of meditation in two ways. First, it allows us the time to reconnect with ourselves. The more grounded, relaxed, and self-accepting we are, the more we can be our best selves with others. Secondly, it can help us to develop our awareness of the stories we hold around others. Meditation provides us with the ability to see stories we have with others from a different perspective. 5. It Improves Creativity Many internal and external factors contribute to the creative blocks that we experience. When we struggle to break through specific thought patterns, practicing meditation is like hitting the restart button. Meditation allows us to step away from and out of these patterns, making it easier to move past them. Engaging in regular meditation provides you with a whole host of benefits. Practicing for just ten minutes a day can change your entire world. While the length of your practice isn't significant, the frequency that you practice will determine how successful you are on your path. https://zenmastery.blog/the-basics-of-meditation-that-you-can-benefit-from-today/ [link] [comments] |
is there any scientific evidence that we are not our thoughts Posted: 05 Feb 2021 07:15 AM PST I dont know why but the idea of being separated from thoughts I see it in depersonalization and dissociation, and some mental illnesses. I think thoughts are part of self, they can be silenced by taking actions toward them so that means they are only a meaning annoyance. Its just my opinion, its an opinion and I respect the philosphy of meditation. But is there a science back this notion (we are not out thoughts, we are the observer self, the reactive self is illusion)? Im hella curious [link] [comments] |
