    Please explain me this

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 01:05 AM PDT

Hey everyone, I have something that I can't explain to myself and maybe you can help me with this. I'm a guy, 34, 6 ft 1, 186. I've been doing amateur sports 2-3 times a week, since I remember myself. I'm not flexible at all tho. 10 years ago I started doing Jiu-jitsu, each training for about 20 min we were stretching. Things were improving quickly for myself. I was able to bring my foot up (karate kick) as high as the shoulder of another person my height. After a month or two, I had to quit Jiu-jitsu and other sports due to back problems so in no time I become even less flexible then I was before starting Jiu-jitsu and stretching. Fast-forward to 2020, while I was staying home because of the pandemic, I decided to stretch again. Everyday for about an hour, with noticeable improvements daily. I did it for a month with great results. After a month I had to move to another place and started a new job and quit again stretching. Now my flexibility is at an all time low. It seems like if I start to stretch and then quit, my flexibility gets way worse than before starting it. Is this something usual, can someone explain whats happening?

tl,dr: my flexibility becomes worse than the initial level if I stop stretching.

    Stretching split

    Posted: 24 Mar 2021 04:27 AM PDT

Hello, I want to ask for opinion and maybe suggestions. I want to get front/side split , backbridge, pike... But I always do full body stretching and I was wondering if it would be better to split it like workout, for example: Mon - splits specific Tue - pike specific Wen - full body Thu - back specific .... Do you think this would help to make faster progress? When I doy full body stretching I do it usually for 20 mins and do 1-2 stretches for the splits ,pike ...

    Thanks for any answers

    Best stretches for back flexibility?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 08:03 AM PDT

One of my biggest goals is to have a bendy and archable back lol. i just think they look so pretty with the super arched yoga poses and contortions, along with the added benefit of more mobility. However, I can't seem to find any great back stretches. any help?

I can do a decent split. I have good front leg flexibility and can fold myself like a pancake, but cannot foe the love of god improve on my back leg.

What are some advanced stretches I could do?

Note) has anybody had a problem with their back leg shaking/spasming?

Anyone ever progress their deep squat?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 02:34 PM PDT

    my squat now

If so did you hold on to something to do that, or maybe stretched in other areas , or maybe squatted in what you able to squat like my picture there . I'm trying to something like the picture where I'm seated comfortably and my back straighter.

    Stretching with hyperextended knees?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 07:34 AM PDT

So i have hyperextended knees. When it comes to stretches like toe touches and anything with straightened legs, should I keep my knees locked/fully straightened? would this help or worsen the hyperextension? pretty occasionally i get mild knee pain after stretching or soreness on the back of my knee (the latter is more common), which makes me wary of continuing to lock my legs when i stretch. any advice?
