    Is it a good idea to take a few days break to let my muscles heal when trying to achieve a side split?

    I've been stretching everyday for the past month and I'm very close to getting the split. But the last few inches are pretty tough to get past, should I take a break for a couple of days to get rid of my muscle soreness and try again after?

    I was doing some shoulder stretches today at the gym, but when I finished I noticed my left arm from my shoulder down to my thumb feels kind of off/numb. That was over 12 hours ago and I think there may be a little more feeling in it now, but it's definitely still not normal...will this fix itself?

    Or should I be more concerned? I'm honestly pretty scared. I'd hate to have permanently damaged something at 23. 😥

    Stretching in the morning

    I always stretch right after I wake up. I notice that I am a lot stiffer in the morning then later in the day. Are the effects of stretching better later in the day or does'nt it matter?
