    Ankle mobility

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 11:43 PM PDT

So I'm a basketball player trying to regain my ankle mobility due to ankle sprains. About a year ago I sprained my ankle 4 consecutive times (we have practice Tuesday and Thursdays) in a row 2 each ankle. Me being the practice warrior I am I taped em up and kept going because I didn't wanna miss a beat. At the time last year before the sprains, if anyone knows the ankle mobility test(reach your knee to the wall and measure the inches) at the time before the sprains I was getting like 5-6 inches... just tested and now I'm at like 1 half to 2 inches maximum🥲. I believe In result to that I've had jumpers knee (patellar tendinopathy) ever since.... so does anyone how I can regain that mobility?

My butt is in the way- help. How do you make this position? I really don’t think I’m that inflexible and I can do the splits (after stretching) but if I try this pose my butt just feels like it’s in the way and my leg doesn’t move more up

    A question about front splits

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 03:42 PM PDT

So ive heard a bunch of times this concept of squaring your hips. From training I guessed it should mean pretty much to have your hips facing frontwards and your torso falling equally in both your hips.

Thing is, I think my form is good in terms of square hips I guess, I sink in the position with my torso straight and both my planted knee and feet (the ones facing down) are completely against the floor. However I find it really hard to move the front leg straigt forward, it tends to move really far to the outside, while still having square hips (toes face up perfectly to the ceiling). Is this a mistake or not necesarily wrong? Idk if I explained myself correctly.

Starting to Stretch One-Leg Pike Alternative?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 03:16 PM PDT

I'm having a lot of trouble with the one-leg pike in starting to stretch

I have trouble keeping my back straight, pain/discomfort in areas other than the hamstring, difficulty balancing/staying square, an inability to keep my standing leg straight, etc.

I was wondering if there's a good alternative to the stretch that I could do instead?
