Why can't I fold at all when doing pancake?

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 01:10 PM PDT

So I'm not super flexible in my hips, I'm trying to work on it. When standing with my legs wide I can fold and almost tuck my head under my butt.

When I am sitting, I do my legs as wide as I can (not very) and go to fold and can move like two inches. It's like my hips do not rotate on the ground. It's weird, I thought I'd be able to do a little further because feet together on the ground I can almost touch my nose to my knees. Standing I can almost tuck my head under me. But sitting pancake, I can move maybe two inches.

Does anyone want to work out together and keep each other Accountable?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 01:40 AM PDT

Hey guys! I was just thinking how hard its been to stay consistent with a workout routine especially after the last couple of years. So I thought why not start partnering people who have the same fitness goals like improving flexibility every day, or just staying fit. I've been matching people for three weeks now. The goal will be to be to keep each other motivated and accountable by logging your workouts on the chat immediately you do it and nudging your partner to do the same. If you want to partnered up, you can send me a PM or just leave a comment if your interested and I'll find you a fitness buddy.

Stretching routine for someone less flexible than a beginner?

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 10:29 AM PDT

I really struggle with my flexibility and mobility so have been looking for some beginner stretching routines for flexibility on YouTube. I have tried a few (mostly by MadFit) but I still find these to be way too challenging for me. One of the biggest issues with the videos is if you cannot get into the position, then they do not offer an alternative. Are there any routines that you would recommend for someone who is less flexible than a beginner?

Please, show me how to improve my shoulder, ankle and hip mobility.

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:44 PM PDT

I am trying to improve my shoulder, ankle and hip mobility SPECIFICALLY to get better at bear crawls and duck walks. I have always been incredibly inflexible in these areas to a painful degree. Holding both of my hands together above my head with straight arms takes effort. In a squated duck walk position, my heels are miles from the floor. Its that bad.

What should I do to improve? Give me a daily routine and i'll do it. I need to get better at this. Any advice is appreciated.

Need help with the cow in my cat cow

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:14 PM PDT

Title says it all really, I've been getting way more flexible since I started doing yoga every day, but one aspect that I really can't figure out is the arch of my back when I'm in a tabletop. It just doesn't want to bend back that way, in fact it's basically flat no matter how much I try to push my heart to the earth.

I had a bit of bad posture that's been steadily improving, but I'd like some tips to help me open up. It almost feels like my mid-upper back needs to unlock.

    Thanks in advance.

whats the best quadricep stretch? i feel that is restricting me from opening up on middle split and keeping square further in front splits? like its the only muscle that gets tense and its on the outside of leg so its weird... thanks

i try the classic stretches to, but those dont seem to really stretch the muscle at all.... plus the quad is the biggest muscle body and no ones talk about it....which is even more weird.

    Charley Horse Prevention

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 06:16 PM PDT

How do I prevent myself from getting Charley horses? I only get Charley horses when I put the bottom half of my leg too close to the top half of my leg while sitting down, but the pain is so bad. I think I might have right hamstrings.

    Pancake stretch injury

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:27 AM PDT

So, I was "egostretching". Without any warmup and previous experiences with pancake stretches, I told my friend to push my back to go deep into the pancake stretch. It felt good, so I was in this position for like 2 minutes. But when I stand up, I had bad feeling in right leg (area between hamstring and glute). I was thinking it is just temporary and it was, but it is 2 months since this happened and still, when i try to go in the straddle position, I have sharp pain in this area. I can stretch my glutes and hamstring without any issue, but stretching in straddle is no go.

I still hate myself for that decision, but it happened already. Do you please have any clues what this type of injury commonly is? Dunno if it is time to visit a doctor or if it is just something that will disapear over time.
