    Strained hamstring

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 09:32 PM PST

I need help but not sure where to post this so I decided to try it here. I pulled my hamstring two years ago and I did nothing about it (i know). I went to physical therapy a few months after it happened but nothing really helped. Now its been so long and I get pain sometimes here and there. It feels kind of tight. I called my doctor but he prescribed me magnesium to help. I was wondering if there are any specific hamstring exercises I can check out that can really help me? And is it too late to do these now that scar tissue has been formed and hindering my flexibility? Im using a tennis ball and sitting on it and moving it around helps but only temporarily, I was wondering if that breaks up the scar tissue well? I really dont know what to do because some exercises helps but others dont. I also would try physiotherapy but the nearest one near me are like in new york when others closer are listed as physical therapy. I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips and advice on how to move forward with this?

    Thank you.

Can someone suggest a good resource for flexibility and 'mobility'? for athletes

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 12:43 AM PST

I'm looking for a good book or concise other resource to improve my flexibility. Can anyone recommend some?

I have seen a few stretching books, Kelley Starrets book seems to have rave reviews, though I'm unsure of how much content will be FAD based as he is very popular in circles that typically endorse pseudo science. It needs to be based on sound scientific principles with a logical approach to achieving improved range of motion with exercise selection based on desired outcome.

Numb & dry skin after excessive foam rolling, asking for treatments

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 08:33 AM PST

    Hey

I've been overly eager in dealing with a shoulder impingement and broke the foam rolling frequency rule (aka I've bulldozered through the area for too many hours at a time). Long story short, I've noticed a numb area on my shoulder/back in the mobilized area along with skin going tad dry.
I've had dry needling do once since then but no change. Functionally I'm fine. I suspect I'm facing nerve inflammation (self-diagnosed), hopefully no permanent damage.
Anybody tips on self-treatment (acupressure mats perhaps?) or further diagnostic recommendations?

    Thanks!
