Coffee bad for soft tissue and flexibility? Posted: 02 Mar 2021 10:39 PM PST I've heard a few claims that coffee is bad for both soft tissue and flexibility, however I have yet to see any clinical studies on this so I am very suspicious about this. Is this some myth out there or a real thing? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Mar 2021 04:11 AM PST Which way is better when doing active stretch, pulsing (contracting-relaxing) at a time or contracting the entire time? 1 more thing that I heard about active stretch. We shouldn't do the active stretch at our max end rom, do the contracting near the end rom instead. Isn't true? [link] [comments]
Unable to do sit in an l-sit or straddle with a straight back Posted: 02 Mar 2021 06:04 PM PST Hi everyone, I have been working on my hamstring flexibility for some time, but for the life of me cannot keep my lower back from rounding out when I'm either in a seated in an l-sit or straddle position. I can do a standing pike to just over 90 without my back rounding out, and I've been mindfully training this movement with Romanian deadlifts. But unless I'm sitting cross legged, whenever I'm seated with my legs out my back immediately begins to round out, and I fail to keep my torso straight. My guess is that this is related to some other inflexibility, but despite researching, I have not been able to find any helpful advice. Anyone's input would be greatly appreciated! Posted: 02 Mar 2021 02:16 PM PST Hi everyone, Just curious, is there anyone who get migraine attacks and tingling/numbing limbs when doing backbend exercises, forward folds, pigeons, etc.? I can easily get into them, but my body needs three days to heal to get rid of the tingling and numbing sensations. I do not have this while practicing handstands for example. I am just checking to see if I am the only one. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Mar 2021 09:26 AM PST Hi, I have very tight hips, so I have to hold each of my hip stretching poses for a couple of minutes. I usually hold my frog pose for four to five minutes straight. It's really hard to get out of the pose and move my legs without any effort because of the pain in the glutes. I have to rest for a minute or two to be able to walk normally again. Is it normal to feel pain in the glutes after stretching my middle splits as well? I suppose to feel it in the adductor muscles since I'm stretching my inner thigh muscles and the groin area, but I don't feel any pain in the adductors instead I feel it in the glutes. The pain is temporary, and it goes away on its own in two days. Do I have to worry about this? [link] [comments] |
