Flexibility: Hey guys! I’ve been practicing my side splits for many years but I feel like I haven’t seen much progress lately. My hips don’t seem like they are squaring enough. Any advice on how to progress from here?

I can do the splits but I don’t feel limber??

    Posted: 12 Jun 2021 02:04 AM PDT

So when I stretch my side splits on the ground, I can get almost all the way down (less than an inch from the ground on either side) but:

    1. It takes a solid amount of warmup stretching to get there

    2. Most significantly- when I'm on my back trying to stretch my hamstrings naturally, my range of motion from that position points to "this guy is not even close to doing the splits"

Basically, I feel like my weight forces me into my flexibility but when I try to execute movements that aren't weight focused, I'm not flexible at all.

How can I add depth to my stretching game?

    🙏🏻

Whoop HRV after splits training sessions

    Posted: 11 Jun 2021 03:37 PM PDT

Does anybody else here have a Whoop tracker? I see a pattern where my HRV is lower after splits training day. I can do an hour of yoga with no change but after splits day it's like 25% lower. Makes sense if HRV is tied to the nervous system. Has anybody else with a Whoop seen this?
